I wonder if she'll have plenty of things to say that will shed light on the game's plot and make it far less dry? (hint: she will) otherwise, you're just going to completely miss the story and the story will seem 'dry' (though it sounds like you already passed the Atris conversation, which is one of the high points of the game). if you're playing KOTOR 2, you have to be trying to please your companions. I hate to be like 'you're playing the game wrong' after praising Obsidian to the high heavens for allowing players to fail lol.īut, really. I was SO CLOSE to getting all the HK 47 pieces too. Got 20 hours in and the story had gone nowhere and then the game glitched out and I was no longer able to progress in the game (that was WITH the most up to date fan patches and content restorations). I never found the actual gameplay in 1 to be that great, so any minor technical improvements Obsidian made were lost on me. And then I went to Dantooine which was just an uglier version from the first game, and then some skeezy underworld spacestation/city thing that was just as dull. 1 had a bad opening area too, but I liked it better than 2's. The areas were more ugly and less interesting than KOTOR 1 too which was a big part of my enjoyment with that game.

The writing that I heard was its greatest strength just came across as long winded and overly dry for a Star Wars story, but I was able to have some fun pissing off the Jedi with my pro-war stance and pissing off Kriea (or whatever her name was) by doing nice things every chance I could, haha. I played KOTOR 2 just a few years ago and found it to be overrated. To make a game that ambitious and almost pull it off? I think they did an incredible job and it's amazing the game turned out as great as it did, imo. But with KOTOR 2, I do think it's really unfair to hold that development cycle against them. New Vegas is buggy as shit (though, no more buggy than any other Gamebryo Bethesda game) on release, that's fact. They clearly struggled with Alpha Protocol and finding an identity there, dealing with all the technical stuff, etc. I'm just here to play good RPGs and KOTOR 2 w/ restored content is a good RPG. There's a difference between actual fan-made content (ie. The HK factory, for example, was 90% done and the files were all left on the Xbox disc when it shipped lol.
